This project was created as an academic requirement to demonstrate learned practices and trends from the Swiss Design era. The poster was created in Adobe Illustrator and is composed of simple vector shapes and typography outlining the program's location, courses, and their respective instructors.
The objective of the assignment was to create a poster to advertise the New Media Production & Design program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
A significant challenge encountered when creating this project was avoiding any level of hierarchy within the typography while still sorting information logically. Any implied importance given to a class or instructor may deter prospective students or provide inaccurate assumptions about the program. I overcame this challenge by sorting each instructor by the course that they teach first, and their first name in descending order, second. Additionally, each section of information is staggered to give equal importance if read from either top-to-bottom or left-to-right.
The poster was later brought into Adobe Illustrator and given a 3D matte effect.
